JOIN LPSO FOR “NIGHT OUT “AGAINST CRIME
.
Besides focusing attention on crime prevention and drug awareness, this program encourages support for local anti-crime efforts such as Neighborhood Watch, DARE, TRIAD, and other activities that discourage crime in neighborhoods. The neighborhood spirit is strengthened and a police-community partnership is formed to fight back against local crime.
Residents in neighborhoods from one end of the parish to the other will participate in a variety of events such as block parties, cook outs, youth activities and anti-crime rallies. In some areas there will be fingerprinting and DNA swabbing available. There will be hot dogs, chili and soft drinks along with balloons and stickers for the children.
“This is an event that our deputies and members of the community look forward to every year,” said Sheriff Webre. “It is just another opportunity for the men and women of the Lafourche Parish Sheriff’s Office to form a bond with the people they serve in this parish,” he added.
